What You Should Know Before You Attend GEWKC’s 100+ Free Events Nov. 8-14David Cawthon
Global Entrepreneur Week – Kansas City is a time to celebrate the innovators and job creators who make our economy work. It’s also a week chock-full of education and networking to empower and inspire business owners, hustlers and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Kansas City is consistently among the leading cities for GEW events, and 2021 is no exception. With so many opportunities, it’s a good idea to have a game plan. Here’s the info you need to make the most of GEWKC 2021.
What’s the schedule for GEWKC?
All events take place Monday, Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 14. Check out all of the sessions at gewkc.org. Our handy tool lets you build your personalized agenda so you don’t miss anything.
Where will GEWKC take place?
Balancing safety with the benefits of face-to-face interaction is a real challenge. So, each event organizer has determined if their session is virtual or in-person. See our calendar of events to find out where sessions will be held. Hint: a majority of events have a virtual option.
In past years, we’ve had a base camp for GEWKC. But this year, events will be online and around the KC metro. So just find the events that are right for you.
How do I register for GEWKC?
Register online! It’s easy and allows you to build your own personalized agenda. When you add an event to your agenda, you’re officially RSVP’d. Plus, registering is your ticket to attending events; you’ll need to register and add sessions to your agenda to receive a virtual event link, get updates from hosts and more.
Registering also means you’ll get access to all virtual GEWKC events and receive reminders those you’ve signed up for. As an added bonus, you’ll get tips about making the most of GEWKC events and your new connections, too.
What does GEWKC cost?
All GEWKC events are free. Yep – you pay nada, zip, zilch.
Who can attend GEWKC?
Anyone! GEWKC is open to our entire community. Whether you’re learning about entrepreneurship for the first time or want to grow a business you’ve had for years, GEW is for you.
What if I need to change the sessions I signed up for?
No problem! Just log in to your account. You can add or remove an event from your agenda. We’ll let the event organizers know and we’ll email an updated agenda to you.
Do I have to register to attend an event?
Yep. For online events, registration allows organizers to send links for people to attend. For in-person events, registration helps organizers get a headcount and prepare accordingly. Plus, this allows event hosts to email you any event updates or event materials.
Will I have access to presentations after a GEWKC event?
It’s up to event organizers to share their presentations. They’ll tell you how to connect with them after GEWKC.
#GEWKC – please tag your posts, quotes and pics!
And while we’re talking media, keep in mind that GEWKC is a public event. So, by participating, you consent to the recording of your likeness, image and/or voice and authorize KCSourceLink to use photographs, video and audio recordings. You know the drill.
What if I’m just starting out and don’t even know what entrepreneurial help I need?
We’ve got you! You can reach out to KCSourceLink year-round. Our Network Navigators can get you headed in the right direction. Share your goals, and we’ll even create an individualized Personal Action Plan for you. This step-by-step checklist will help you connect with the people and programs that can help your business move forward in Kansas City. And did we mention it’s free?
