Leavenworth Main Street Program, Inc. ®

The Leavenworth, Kansas Main Street Program fosters economic development and historic preservation with downtown Leavenworth, Kansas, the first city of Kansas, established in 1854.

About

Leavenworth Main Street was established in 1995 and is an accredited program with the National Main Street Center. The program utilizes the Main Street four-point approach to revitalization: economic restructuring, design, organization/membership and promotion and has been successful in revitalization of a large full service, 24 block, historic downtown with over 250 businesses.

The program provides guidance, assistance, education and resources for small business startups, second- and third-stage growth and entrepreneurial development. It also collectively enhances the business climate, draws community and visitors downtown, engages and interacts with entrepreneurs and potential investors and provides gap funding opportunities for new and growing businesses.

Our members consist of downtown merchants as well as local businesses and individuals generally interested in the success of the district. The program works diligently for a common purpose, to maintain and enhance the vitality of downtown Leavenworth.
