$90Introducing the 2023 Bank of America Study of Philanthropy: Charitable Giving by Affluent Households, a comprehensive examination of the generosity and engagement of philanthropic families across the United States. This esteemed study, now in its ninth edition, is a collaborative endeavor between Bank of America and the prestigious Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
The year’s study, conducted in January 2023, rigorously examines the landscape of charitable giving and volunteering strategies throughout 2022. Leveraging insights from previous research, this year’s study employs a refined set of questions to provide fresh perspectives designed for longitudinal tracking that resonate with the dynamic nature of philanthropy today. Relevant areas have been expanded and topics have been added to gain a deeper understanding of giving patterns as new issues emerge. Where possible, trends over a two and five-year period are highlighted to provide context or highlight statistically significant changes.
