UMKC Entrepreneurship Scholars Program (E-Scholars)

UMKC’s entrepreneurship programs accelerate early startups from ideas to sustainable launch in a safe environment of learning, experimenting and mentoring.

The Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management inspires and nurtures early-stage entrepreneurs and innovators through transformational education and research. We encourage entrepreneurship, not just among business students, but among all students as well as the broader Kansas City community, and welcome those who want to learn how to spark ideas and create new products and businesses.

The Institute offers entrepreneurship and innovation education at every educational level. Institute faculty and staff develop, deliver, and administer the Bloch School's Entrepreneurship programs at all levels. In addition to a major and minor in entrepreneurship at the undergraduate level, an emphasis in entrepreneurship at the graduate (MBA) level, and a doctoral program, the Institute offers numerous programs aimed at fostering and strengthening entrepreneurship in the Kansas City community. Some of these programs include the Hatchery, which forms teams of student entrepreneurs to work on venture concepts; Entrepreneurship in the Arts, which works to give artists the business fundamentals they need to be successful entrepreneurs; Vets2Ventures, which works to foster new venture formation among military veterans; and the Entrepreneurship Scholars program.

One of the Regnier Institute’s flagship programs for encouraging early-stage venture formation in the Kansas City region is the Entrepreneurship Scholars (E-Scholars) program. The E-Scholars program works with Kansas City’s most promising early-stage entrepreneurs to give them the knowledge, resources, and mentoring they need to launch a new business, or to grow an existing one.
