KC Velocity

Our purpose is to provide high quality mentoring, events and leadership services to growth oriented companies, along with networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, to result in positive business activity and facilitate job creation in Lee’s Summit.

About

Velocity Lee's Summit is a non-profit organization, partially funded by the City of Lee’s Summit and chartered with the goal of driving entrepreneurship in the community.  Working closely with stakeholders (entrepreneurs, community partners, business leaders, and city government), the work of the Velocity Lee's Summit Board of Directors, as well as its volunteers through our events committee, has been focused on our stated purpose to create a business environment that fosters entrepreneurship in Lee’s Summit. To deliver on this vision and its component parts, our Board has sought to identify Lee’s Summit as a destination community with a healthy and vibrant entrepreneurial commitment.

The focus of this effort has included identifying locations and facilities within the community where entrepreneurs can flourish.  Board members collaborate with Lee’s Summit entrepreneurial based co-working facilities, engage with our City’s existing business leader entrepreneurs, and develop working relationships with resource partners that specialize in developing and delivering impactful entrepreneurial programming.  In addition to regularly providing opportunities for networking and peer collaboration through highly relevant events, Velocity Lee's Summit seeks to partner with rapidly growing businesses by providing them essential support, resources and advocacy.
