Advanced Manufacturing Institute

The Advanced Manufacturing Institute at Kansas State University provides a broad range of services and project management resources to both private industry and researchers to advance the commercial readiness of new products or technologies.

About

The Advanced Manufacturing Institute at Kansas State University provides a broad range of services and project management resources to both private industry and researchers to advance the commercial readiness of new products or technologies. This process begins by gaining an understanding of the technology and the value that it brings to the target market, determining an appropriate intellectual property strategy, engineering design, prototyping, testing and, if needed, providing assistance in the development and execution of the commercialization plan. AMI employs a number of industry experienced engineers and business professionals that work directly with our clients to identify tasks which need to be completed to move development projects forward. This may consist of designing custom test equipment, constructing the equipment and conducting tests for final evaluation before taking a product to market.  AMI also assists with the creation of patent disclosures for product concepts and conducting customer research. Over the past 20 years, AMI has created an extensive network of organizations such as university experts, patent attorneys, engineering service providers, prototyping specialists and manufacturers who we can call upon to assist in the technology development efforts as identified during the course of projects.
