KC IABC (Kansas City Chapter, International Association of Business Communicators)
About
The Kansas City chapter of International Association of Business Communicators includes around 200 members in and around Kansas City. Many KC/IABC members run their own companies or are self-employed freelancers. Others are employed as communications professionals for major corporations, agencies and nonprofit organizations. KC/IABC also welcomes student members and works with local IABC student chapters serving as a resource for young communicators entering the industry.
Chapter activities include monthly luncheons, conferences and special interest groups focused on communications, public relations and marketing. The chapter offers business planning and marketing consulting, leadership and professional development to professional communicators and mentoring to students.
Non-members are welcome at all events, which cover topics including marketing planning, research and analysis, as well as e-communications, crisis communications and best practices of communication and marketing.
KC/IABC is a six-time winner of The International Association of Business Communicators’ Chapter of the Year award, based on overall excellence in management and performance in the annual Chapter Management Awards. The Kansas City chapter is part of the International Association of Business Communicators, which was founded in 1970 as a nonprofit global network of communications professionals.
