The Downtown Council is a private nonprofit membership organization firmly committed to creating a vibrant, diverse and economically sustainable downtown for the entire Kansas City metropolitan area.

 

The group is engaged in economic development initiatives ranging from recruiting and retaining businesses, continuing the residential renaissance, installing infrastructure and streetscape and advocating for an improved investment environment downtown. The Downtown Council is an outcome-based organization providing a substantial return on your investment.

 

The DTC, with its 280 members, is the primary private-sector advocate of Downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Launch KC: Each year, Launch KC invests $500,000 in pre-seed and seed stage companies that relocate to downtown Kansas City, Missouri, through a grants competition. Founded in 2014, LaunchKC is a nonprofit initiative of the Downtown Council and the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Social Venture Studio: The Social Venture Studio, powered by LaunchKC, connects business solutions rooted in solving social, environmental or racial issues, with the firepower necessary to thrive. Ultimately, the program aims to create exponential societal impact by supporting scalable ideas and talent.
