The Kansas Small Business Development Center at the University of Kansas provides free and confidential individual advising to small business owners, managers and prospective owners. The center can work with any company that fits into the Small Business Administration’s definition of a "small business."

KU Small Business Development Center

The KU Small Business Development Center assists with the growth of Kansas small businesses by providing free one-to-one advising services.

 

Its center is one of 13 Kansas Small Business Development Centers in Kansas and one of more than 1,000 SBDCs in the United States. It is a partnership program between the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC), the University of Kansas School of Business and the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

 

The KU-KSBDC serves the following counties:

  • Douglas
  • Franklin
  • Jefferson
  • Atchison
  • Leavenworth
  • Doniphan
