YEP KC
About
YEP (Young Entrepreneurs Program) is a hands-on summer internship program for high school students that focuses on entrepreneurial thinking and development through practical experience. The working experience and exposure each student acquires during their time with YEP makes this an internship program unlike any other.
YEP, the Midwest’s premier entrepreneurial-experience-focused internship, launched its program in Kansas City in 2017 with the goal of developing a strong cohort of talented youth whose experiences in the program would encourage them to become part of the long-term fabric of the business community. In the four years since its inception, the organization has served 61 scholars from 26 different high schools across the Kansas City metro area, the majority of whom are finishing their academic careers at universities across the U.S., including: the University of Kansas, the University of Missouri, George Washington University, Tulane University, Villanova University, Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.
WHEN
With YEP, the summer is divided into two sessions.
Session 1: June 6 to July 1
Session 2: July 11 to Aug. 5
Students can participate in either one of the sessions or both, and will be placed at the same internship for the duration of both. The time between the two sessions is for the students to enjoy a break. Students are expected to work 40-hour weeks.
