Overview

Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international celebration of the makers, innovators and job creators who launch startups and bring ideas to life. Founded by the Kauffman Foundation in 2008, it has since expanded to more than 160 countries. Here in KC, #GEWKC 2017 was celebrated with more than 100 events and by more than 5,000 attendees.

Key Dates

June 15 – August 31: Event submissions open
October 1 – GEWKC event calendar will launch and registration of events begins
November 12 – 16: GEW

Basecamp

This year, HQ for #GEWKC is at Plexpod Westport Commons, your basecamp for all things Global Entrepreneurship Week. You'll find our headline events, meet and greets, breakout workshops and even delectable local treats all right here, and all for free.

The Makers and Creators Track is a haven of inspiration and education for anyone who makes or creates—brewers, distillers, bakers, inventors, crafters. If you don’t think you fit the mold of a typical entrepreneurs—think again! We’ve “made” a track just for you.

The Startups Track is for those who are looking to dip their toes into a new business venture or who are up and running yet still need help navigating business ownership.

The Scalers Track is for business that have survived the startup phase, but have not yet reached maturity. These business owners are eager to grow their businesses.
