Event Series Event Series: Allyship

Allyship Skills (hybrid)

July 24 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am CDT

$30
Allyship training invites and encourages people who have privilege, advantage, and status to use those assets to improve workplace equity. Research shows that allyship training produces a range of benefits for workers in marginalized groups–reduced stress, increased happiness, and higher productivity.

The focus of these workshops will be to help participants understand the importance of allyship, their roles as allies, how to integrate creativity into their allyship practice, and how to implement allyship in the workplace. The workshops will focus on practical skills and behaviors, not changing ideology or belief systems.

The Allyship Series includes four workshops, and participants may register for individual workshops for $30 each or for the entire series for $100. The first three workshops will be presented in hybrid format (Zoom and in-person), though participants are strongly encouraged to attend in-person to get the full benefit of the experience, and the last workshop will be presented in-person only.

This session is a fun introduction to the tenets and practice of allyship. It is a richly engaging experience that focuses on common scenarios and practical allyship skills. Through small-group activities, discussion, and games, participants explore potential ways for allies to take action.
