Business Planning Tools

Thursday, May 4 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm • Organized By SCORE Kansas City
4801 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64110

About

Fail to Plan? Plan to Fail? Use an easy, visual tool to plan!

Entrepreneurs just starting, existing businesses adding products or services, or industries undergoing significant change can all use easy visual tools to assist in planning. This IN-PERSON class introduces tools which help:

  • define why you want to go into business
  • why you’re in business
  • what customer problems you are trying to solve.

You can then build a business plan for funding, a marketing plan, a product development plan, an operating/management plan, etc.

The Value Proposition Canvas and Business Model Canvas (Alex Osterwalder, Strategyzer) are easy to use, one page visual tools which bring clarity to your business planning.

Faculty:  Karen Squires Foelsch has over 30 years experience working in Information Technology and business management leadership roles.  A former Corporate Senior Vice President, she has worked in manufacturing, scientific and educational arenas. She has extensive business planning, implementation and operational experience.  She works as a consultant, is a Certified SCORE mentor, has served on non-profit boards and advises both her undergraduate and graduate universities.
