Kansas State Research and Extension is hosting three Kansas Local Meat Marketing Workshops across the state to help local meat, poultry, and egg producers grow their businesses and, in turn, strengthen local and regional food systems across Kansas. The workshops will provide guidance on regulations and strategies for business promotion. Attendees will learn from experts in the field, including fellow producers with direct experience in this topic.
The Kansas Local Meat Marketing Workshops will be hosted at the following locations:
Sedgwick County Extension Office in Wichita: February 3, 2023, from 10am-3pm
Kansas State University Olathe: February 24, 2023, from 10am-3pm
KSU Southeast Research-Extension Center in Parsons: March 3, 2023, from 10am-3pm
The workshop cost includes a noon meal including locally-produced meat.
The workshops are hosted by the Kansas State Research and Extension Local Foods Trans-disciplinary Team. It is sponsored by the Kansas Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program, Walton’s, Frontier Farm Credit, Neosho County Farm Bureau, Sedgwick County Farm Bureau, Johnson County Farm Bureau, Allen County Farm Bureau, Kansas Farmers Union, the Kansas Rural Center, Kansas Meat Processors Association, and a KSU Global Food Systems Seed Grant.
