Grant Writing Roundup | 3 Part Series - Structuring for Success

Tuesday, May 17 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm • Organized By Nonprofit Connect

About

There is a common perception that grant writers spend their days huddled behind a laptop, working silently and alone. Yet, we know that there is a lot grant writers can learn from one another.

Join Nonprofit Connect's inaugural Grant Writing Roundup to gain best practices and connect with your grant peers. This 3-part series is ideal for anyone who works with grants, regardless of experience.

Part 1: Building relationships with grant makers & assessing fit.

Too often, grant makers rely on "what we applied for last year" to set their priorities. Funding relationships are dynamic and there are steps grant writers can take to ensure you focus on the most likely funding opportunities. Learn to build relationships that connect your mission to the grantmaker's priorities for lasting partnerships.

Part 2: Structuring for success.

From incorporating logic models into your proposal structure to adopting a consistent file naming convention for your internal documents, there are several things grant writers can do to be organized and prepared for success. This session provides time for peer discussion to learn what works well at other organizations.

Part 3: Copy Writing 101 & Group Writing Activities.

How can you tell a compelling, emotional, and data-driven story in 150 words or less? Grant Writers must communicate technical information in a succinct, accurate, and way. This session will highlight proven copy writing techniques and give participants an opportunity to have their writing workshopped by their peers.

In addition to three live, one hour sessions, participants in this series will be provided with 3 hours of on-demand trainings to help hone your grant craft.
