Resolving Conflicts as a Communicator

Thursday, October 21 @ 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm • Organized By KC IABC (Kansas City Chapter, International Association of Business Communicators)
903 EAST 104TH STREET, Kansas City, MO 64131

About

Conflict is an inevitable part of working with others, but there is a high cost to organizations if those conflicts are left unresolved.

Workplace conflicts are common. Some get resolved, some don't. But, the bottom-line impact of unresolved conflict is not always obvious at the time it is occurring. Common outcomes of lingering unresolved conflicts include delayed or missed deadlines, work recycling, lowered productivity and morale, increased employee turnover and sometimes even litigation.

Conflict can result from a multitude of causes. However, it is important to distinguish between conflicts that have their roots in organizational systems and tasks, and conflicts that originate at the interpersonal relationship level.

Jeannette Terry, CEO of Tercon Partners, provides insight and guidance on how to address conflicts and prevent them from happening in the first place, in order to maintain a healthy and productive work environment.

Join the event in person on Thursday, October 21 at The Miller Group. Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m.; program begins at noon and concludes by 1 p.m. Lunch will be served. You can also attend via Zoom.

Social distancing measures will be in place, and masks will be required. We encourage those attending in-person to be vaccinated.
