The Color of Money: Advancing Diversity and Inclusion in Kansas City Philanthropy

Tuesday, September 21 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am • Organized By Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership
Online Event

The dynamics surrounding fundraising in communities of color are complex but crucial for nonprofit professionals to fully understand. Fundraisers at majority white organizations often overlook people of color and can be frustrated because they can’t recruit them to progressive causes. Recent research found that over 1.3 million people of color in the United States have a million dollars or more on hand to donate to philanthropic causes. This equates to fourteen percent of all millionaires in the country. Fundraising professionals must focus more time and attention on respectfully approaching and engaging diverse communities. The Color of Money: Advancing Diversity and Inclusion in Kansas City Philanthropy panelists are an engaging and thoughtful group of BIPOC philanthropic professionals that will take these issues head on. The panel discussion will be frank, authentic, and lively with time for questions at the end.
