Virtual Coffee Chat Renewable Energy Sector Updates Mexico & Canada

Monday, April 12 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm • Organized By U.S. Department of Commerce/U.S. Commercial Service (U.S. Export Assistance Center)
Online Event

About

Join the U.S. Commercial Service for its first‐in‐a‐series of virtual Coffee Chats highlighting renewable energy business opportunities for U.S. companies. The first session will focus on Canada and Mexico and will include market observations, business opportunities, and highlights within the industry from the newly released 2021 Energy Export Resource Guides.

Why Mexico?: Mexico has significant resource potential and could attract large‐scale investments to diversify its energy supply. If market conditions are favorable, Mexico could continue to attract investment for renewable energy projects, evidenced by three long‐term auctions between 2015 and 2018. However, recent policy changes are creating challenges for
renewable energy projects.

Why Canada?: Canada’s renewable energy sector needs are estimated to drive one‐third of Canada’s USD $20 billion total annual imports for the electrical power sector. Around 45% of all Canadian imports for its electrical power sector are sourced from the United States, providing significant opportunities for U.S. exporters.

Delve into over 45 country‐specific reports, highlighting recent policy developments, market needs, the competitive landscape, and best prospects for U.S. energy companies in the 2021 Energy Export Resource Guides
