You will hear from Dr. Emmanual Ngomsi on the "THE BIASES IN US!" All of us hold biases. Each of us is part of several groups, defined by many cultural constructs. This presentation defines the various types of biases. We identify the origin of biases, the stages of development of bias, and analyze real examples of biases and how they influence our daily lives and interactions with others.
Emmanuel Ngomsi, Ph.D. is President of All World Languages and Cultures, Inc., a training and consulting corporation specializing in Intercultural Communication, Diversity & Inclusion Education, Character Education, Team-building Facilitation and Language Services: Translations, Interpreting & Instruction.
Dr. Ngomsi specializes in teaching about world cultures. He spent ten years serving the United States Peace Corps in Africa as Chief Languages and Cross-Culture Coordinator. He also served as presenter at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the U.S. State Department. Currently, in addition to running his company, Dr. Ngomsi serves as faculty, and adjunct at numerous universities. To the exception of police academies and universities, he is the only stand-alone expert in the state of Missouri to be certified as legal provider of Racial Profiling to law enforcement agencies. He serves as an instructor at the Kansas City Regional Police Academy.
You will also hear an update from Dr. Kenny Rodrequez on "Funding Our Schools' Future" bond issue/tax levy which will be on the April 6th ballot.
Dr. Kenny Rodrequez has been Superintendent of the Grandview C-4 School District since July 2016.
Before serving as Superintendent, Dr. Rodrequez served for two years as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in the Grandview C-4 School District.
