Straight Talk on Vaccines for Employers and HR Professionals

Wednesday, January 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am • Organized By Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce

About

As our community gets closer to widespread vaccine availability, businesses may face questions from and situations with their employees that are unfamiliar and unprecedented in their workplace. To help business leaders and human resource professionals be better prepared for these conversations, the Society for Human Resource Management of Kansas City (SHRM-KC) has partnered with the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, the KC Chamber, Kansas City Area Development Council, KC Rising, and Mid-America Regional Council on a timely and relevant event.

Join SHRM-KC board members Anne Baggott, Shareholder/Director with Dysart Taylor, an employment law specialist who works on these issues with businesses of all sizes, and Jill Crutchfield, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Senior Human Resources Director for North Kansas City Hospital, to learn what to expect with regard to:

• Whether employers can require employees to get vaccinated;
• If vaccines are required, the options for administering and enforcing them; and
• Managing accommodation requests and employee objections.

Their speakers will provide timely information and discuss actual situations and hypothetical but likely issues. Please bring your questions for Q&A. This event will be ideal for businesses of all sizes that are planning for widespread vaccine availability and working through the multitude of related issues to consider when implementing vaccine-related policies.
