During this time of change and panic and scrambling to figure out what needs to happen next, remember that we are social creatures and need the support of others. The stress response is mitigated person-to-person contact.
As freelancers, entrepreneurs and business owners, we're used to going it alone, sure. But the social distancing required lately needs us to be even more isolated. But it doesn't have to be that way! While loads of in-person contact is not feasible right now, we certainly have the tech to connect virtually.
Let's shift our perspective from seeing social distancing and bans on gatherings of 10 or more people instead as acts of mass cooperation, intended to protect as many of us as possible. It's not about going into seclusion, it's about each of us taking a deep breath, and agreeing to be still for just a little while. Let the biggest wave pass without engulfing too many of the most vulnerable among us.
Join me Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. (CT) for the next few weeks for a big dose of good juju, until the worst of this wave passes us over.
We'll use the same link every week, so join when you can!
