Spring 2019 Bloch VentureHub Entrepreneurial Workshop Series - Blockchain Business Models

Wednesday, April 17 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm • Organized By Regnier Institute
4328 Madison Ave, Kansas City, MO 64111

Google search trends for “blockchain” and related phrases increased fifteen fold from 2014 to 2019. Venture capital funds invested more than half a billion dollars each year into blockchain startups in 2015 and 2016. More than $10 billion of capital was raised through Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) in 2017 and 2018. Clearly, there is tremendous interest, and even hype, surrounding blockchain technologies. But what successful business models and business processes have already emerged, or are currently emerging, surrounding utilization of blockchain in diverse industries? This workshop provides a very brief introduction to blockchain technology as a primer to examining business models surrounding blockchain. From this foundation, the workshop  examines several cases of companies both large and small that incorporating blockchain technology today as a part of their business model or business processes.
