This 3-session bootcamp has been created to help startups/small organizations, who lack in-house Human Resources or Recruiting expertise, plan for team growth.
Students will work through what building a team should look like, and learn to craft a 12-month plan for human capital growth. We will explore the right and wrong way to execute a recruiting and hiring plan (including the challenges of hiring your friends), and discuss fostering a healthy team culture, starting from that first hire.
Each session will be facilitated by an expert in the topic following a case study. Students should plan to participate in all three evenings. Topics include:
- Night 1: Staffing Strategy - factors to consider; 'real' costs; business model considerations
- Night 2: Recruiting Talent - how to frame a role, benefits, and right-size a job posting; pricing a role; how/where to find talent
- Night 3: Managing Small, Effective Teams - what's needed; how to manage small teams; correcting issues before they grow
