Accelerators: Are They Right For You?

Thursday, January 17 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm • Organized By Enterprise Center in Johnson County
4220 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Suite 350B, Fairway, KS 66205

About

Join ECJC 'Pitch Perfect' graduate, DONALD HAWKINS, as he shares lessons learned from an Accelerator

Building a startup is a tall order, and many entrepreneurs look to accelerators to propel them to that next level. In some cases, accelerators offer founders seed capital in exchange for a modest amount of equity. Typically, accelerators are formed around specific programming, partnerships, or industries. With time commitments ranging from a few weeks to 6 months, founders are required to prioritize their schedules to accommodate meetings with resources, mentors, and investors.

Though many accelerators host cohorts outside of Kansas City, they can be well worth local founders pursuing them. How might that work? And because of the popularity of accelerators, their selection process is very competitive. Wondering if an accelerator is right for you? This session will cover what you can expect to gain from an accelerator, in addition to things you can do to help your application stand out from the crowd.

Bring your questions, and let's talk!
