Cybersecurity and Nonprofits

Tuesday, June 27 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am • Organized By Nonprofit Connect
125 East 31st Street, Community Room, KCPT Building, Kansas City, MO 64108

As recent headlines all too clearly illustrate, cybersecurity needs to be a top priority for all nonprofits. Nonprofit organizations handle volumes of sensitive data every day. Client records, donor information, confidential emails, and hundreds of other transactions pass through our organizations. Reputation is everything - and a data breach can destroy a reputation in one fell swoop.

How concerned should nonprofits be in the face of recent cyber-attacks and security threats? What are the top cybersecurity threats to nonprofits?  What should nonprofits be doing to better protect themselves?

FBI Supervisory Special Agent Darren Holtz joins us to explore cybersecurity issues and ways to more effectively anticipate, mitigate, and respond to cyber threats.  Agent Holtz manages the Cyber program for the FBI’s Kansas City Field Office and in that role has worked on cyber national security, cybercrime, on-line sexual exploitation of children and cyber counter terrorism.

Please park in one of the two lots directly north and across 31st Street from the station, leaving the main lot for KCPT staff and visitors with disabilities. Use caution when crossing the street.

No charge - Nonprofit Connect members
$10 - Nonmembers

No refunds will be given after June 21, 2017.
No-shows will be billed.
