As our society's issues become more complex, and new solutions are proposed by government and even for-profits, the nonprofit sector is at a crossroad. What has been our role, and what is our role moving forward? Can we work across sectors? How do we move from talking about stuff, to actually doing stuff? Using his trademark brand of humor, Vu will touch on the definition of social good, the urgency of the nonprofit sector owning its power, the importance of cross-sector collaboration, and the habits and mindsets we must all reconsider to effectively handle the challenges facing our communities.
Vu Le is the writer behind the humor blog Nonprofit with Balls and is the humor writer for Blue Avocado. Vu is the Executive Director of Seattle organization Rainier Valley Corps, which aims to bring more leaders of color in to the nonprofit sector. He was recently recognized by the Chronicle of Philanthropy as a “Writer with Attitude.”
Vu Le's talk will be livestreamed online at the Nonprofit Connect office. We will provide snacks and drinks, and a seat to watch Vu Lee's talk among nonprofit peers. The livestream is part of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network National Conference, and is brought to you by the Nonprofit Association of Oregon.
