10 Kansas City Small Businesses Compete for 2022 Top Award from KC Chamber

How many of these top 10 Kansas City area businesses have you heard of? They’re vying to be named the 2022 Small Business of the Year and take home the prestigious Mr. K Award from the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.

And just so you know, these small businesses haven’t gotten to this point all by their lonesome—they’ve leveraged some of the hundreds of resources in the Kansas City area to help their business start, grow and compete for small business awards. Who will be named the 2022 Small Business of the Year? The winner will be announced 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. June 15 at the Small Business Awards Luncheon at the Marriott Muehlebach Tower – Imperial Colonial Ballroom on 1213 Wyandotte St. in Kansas City, Missouri.

  • Chicken N Pickle: an indoor and outdoor entertainment complex featuring pickleball and a variety of other games

  • Crux KC: full service marketing agency that serves clients with executive-level marketing and business strategy

  • DEMDACO: a shop that offers artist-driven gifts, fashions and home décor products

  • KD Academy: 24/7 child care, before- and after-school programs and nutritious meals for infants through 5-year-olds

  • Midwest Recovery Centers: an extended care treatment facility that aims to provide quality addiction treatment

  • Parrish & Sons Construction: a minority- and woman-owned construction company in Kansas City

  • Resolve Counseling: a counseling and wellness center based in Prairie Village, Kansas

  • RK Contractors: a contractor and roofing company that uses skilled workers who are Middle Eastern immigrants and refugees

  • SnapIT Solutions: a small business that provides IT services, solutions and placements for companies

  • Walz Tetrick Advertising: a full-service marketing, creative and media agency
