Join the Business Journals and learn about the most important tax rules and laws for 2022, the best practices for tax planning and the upside of using accounting software to prep your taxes.

Kansas Retail Sales and Compensating Use Tax

1 – 4 p.m. Thursday, April 7

Join the Kansas Small Business Development Center at Johnson County Community College for this workshop led by a tax pro with the Kansas Department of Revenue. The session will cover the basics of sales tax and use tax for retail businesses, as well as how to correctly use the different exemptions you might see.

QuickBooks® Fundamentals – for Online Users

8:30 – 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 19 and 21

Facilitated by a Certified QuickBooks Pro adviser and the Kansas Small Business Development Center of Johnson County Community College, learn how to set up your business using this popular desktop accounting program in this beginning-level seminar.

IRS Small Business Tax Workshop

1 – 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 5

Learn the basics of complying with IRS regulations, including things like business use of the home, self-employment tax, employees vs. independent contractors, payroll tax, electronic filing and more with the Kansas Small Business Development Center at Johnson County Community College.

Tackle QuickBooks, understand financial statements, connect with baking partners, build your sales funnel and get a grasp on your numbers to boost your bottom line with a class or workshop that can help you get the know-how to help your business succeed.

Know Your Numbers, and Make More Money

Business Built to Last: 8 Building Blocks for Growing a Successful Business

Pathway Financial Education is launching free education and business coaching for women- and minority-owned small businesses. Several of KC’s leading subject-matter experts will lead this eight-week education and training program. Attending all eight classes is encouraged.
