KC-Based Block Knowledge Seeks Current, Aspiring Entrepreneurs for Next Cohorts

Every innovation that solves problems and changes the world starts with one thing: opportunity. But underserved and underestimated groups often never get that opportunity, and the outcomes suggest we all can do more.

To fill that gap and create more opportunities for everyone to join Kansas City’s expanding entrepreneurial community, Block Knowledge (formerly Project United Knowledge) has developed new business validation and product development courses to help even more aspiring doers, dreamers and innovators validate their business concepts and develop them into full-fledged businesses.

Recent alumni of Block Knowledge’s existing programs have started new businesses, created apps and new products, and received follow-on funding.

Business Validation and Product Development Courses

Each Block Knowledge cohort shows up to 10 aspiring entrepreneurs how their ideas can solve problems with real-world solutions.

Business Validation

Classes start March 10 and June 9 and run 6 - 9 p.m.

Block Knowledge’s 11-week entrepreneur accelerator program helps budding or current founders create and validate their businesses. By utilizing a Lean Canvas model, founders will learn about their business and do real customer discovery. Founders can build directly off that business-canvas training and take their market-tested concept and learn how to develop it into a product.

Product Development

Classes start March 19 and April 30 and run 5:30 - 9 p.m.

This six-week course guides non-technical entrepreneurs through the technical training of product development. Participants will learn how to improve or build a solid customer experience and get the tools they need to speak with technical and creative vendors. The program covers business concepts and features, user experience and user interface, wireframing and prototyping, user requirements and technology team management.

Block Knowledge’s offerings are open to new and existing business owners in any industry and to those who are exploring a new business idea. To apply, you need a well-articulated description of the product or service you offer (or plan to offer), as well as a description of your target consumer, client or audience. Submit your application for each course at the Block Knowledge website.
