1 Million Cups Kansas City (#1MCKC)

#1MCKC celebrated its fifth birthday this year in Kansas City. If you’ve been around KC’s entrepreneurial community, you’re probably familiar with the program. But just in case: #1MCKC is a weekly entrepreneurial showcase and networking event, hosted each Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Kauffman Foundation.

Have you presented before? You should. #1MCKC presenters come from a wide range of industries, tend to be less than 5 years old and meet at least one of these requirements: disrupting their industry, ready to scale (or in the process of) or new and novel to the Kansas City market.

Not sure if your business fits? Apply to get connected with the community organizers. Presenters get so much out the experience: a chance to practice your pitch, an international audience via livestream and Facebook Live, feedback from the community, the chance to connect with others in the community....

And if you’re not interested in presenting, you should still attend! And if you can’t make it to #1MCKC, you can catch past presenters at the once monthly Startup Rewind in Overland Park, Kansas.

Submit an event to Global Entrepreneurship Week Kansas City (#GEWKC)

Global Entrepreneurship Week (Nov. 13-17) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year—and we want to get the whole KC business community in on the action, so we can show how KC does eship in our community (and the world!)

And so, this year, we're inviting KC businesses and community partners to submit events for #GEWKC (think inspirational panels, innovative educational experiences, workshops, spotlight speakers, etc.)

KC already has a bit of a reputation for going big during Global E-Week. Last year, GEW attracted 12K+ attendees with 100+ education-packed events, so it's a great opportunity to get your expertise in front of a rapt audience.

How to host an event during Global Entrepreneurship Week

  • First, check out the FAQs for this year's celebration. Have ideas, speakers or a workshop but don't have a venue? No problem. We can line one up for you.

  • Learn how we’re structuring this year’s #GEWKC along four thematic tracks: makers and creators, youth entrepreneurship, business services and business growth.

  • Submit your event right away.

If you’re interested in supporting #GEWKC but events aren’t your thing, we're also looking for sponsors and volunteers.
