Kansas City Business Owners Join the Pipeline Entrepreneur Family
It's no coincidence Kansas City keeps churning out strong startups and job creators. The city is host to an entire entrepreneurship ecosystem of high-caliber business development, coaching and mentoring resources.
In fact, one of the most prestigious mentoring programs in our region is headed into its second decade of shaping high-performing entrepreneurs. Pipeline Entrepreneurs is a regional technology entrepreneur fellowship program, designed to systematically identify high potential technology entrepreneurs and match them with best-in-class training, resources and mentors to facilitate their dynamic growth.
As part of its annual gala last month (pictured above,) Pipeline introduced its 2017 Pipeline Entrepreneurial Fellows, which includes three Kansas City area entrepreneurs. And so, we extend our hearty congratulations to Austin Barone of Just Play Sports Solutions, Jennifer Rosenblatt of MusicSpoke and Roy Scott of H3 Enterprise.
About This Year’s KC Pipeline Fellows
Before these leading Kansas Citians became Pipeline Entrepreneur Fellows, they took advantage of local programs and resources designed to help them take their businesses to great heights.
Just Play Sports Solutions builds digital coaching tools for football and basketball teams. Austin Barone and his team call the Kansas City Startup Village home, an entrepreneur-led community helping to grow and support innovation-led startups.
When you buy music in the MusicSpoke marketplace, a majority of your money spent goes straight to the composer. To learn more about the artist-centric startup, and its cofounder Jennifer Rosenblatt, watch their 1 Million Cups presentation from the summer of 2015.
H3 Enterprise stands for healthy hip hop, a music genre Roy Scott and his business partner (and award-winning magician) Reggie Gray created to get elementary-aged students moving and inspired to lead healthier lives. The H3 team secured Digital Sandbox KC proof-of-concept support at the top of the year and Reggie joined the illustrious ranks of ScaleUp! Kansas City; they’re poised for big (dance) moves in 2017.
These KC entrepreneurs join nine other Pipeline fellows in the 2017 class : Iyad Aldalooj, Fairshop; Jared Bakewell, Proseeds; Dan Curran, PowerPost; Joe Fischer, Greetabl; Beth Handrigan, Lean Media; Evan Luxon, Esculon; Lei Shi, UAVradars; Derek Weber, goBRANDgo!; and Elisha Yaghmai, Vigilas Telehealth.
The gala also marked the graduation of the 2016 class. Three graduating members hail from Kansas City: Kimberly Gandy of Play It Health, Jeff Rohr of SquareOffs and Tommy Saunders of FEWDM. Congrats to the graduating class of 2016.
