Mozilla’s Gigabit Community Fund
Mozilla's Gigabit Community Fund is a partnership with the National Science Foundation and US Ignite to provide catalytic funding to support pilot tests of gigabit technology and related curricula. Projects must take place in Kansas City and employ technologies that leverage high speed internet connections to advance education or workforce development. Applications due October 18.
UberPITCH
This is an unique way for local startups to access the resources they need to grow their companies—all at the touch of an Uber button. If selected, you will take a 10-15 minute Uber ride with a top investor on October 26 to pitch your company and receive feedback. Applications due October 20.
KC Global Cities Initiative Micro-Grant Program
These $5000 grants must be spent on improving the applicant’s ability to access world markets. Marketing production for international markets, translation services, and market research are just three examples of many eligible expenses. Apply now.
Missouri Building Entrepreneurial Capacity (MOBEC)
Through the MOBEC program, Missouri Technology Corporation makes strategic investments that expand the support system for entrepreneurs that are commercializing new technologies or that enhance the capacity of Missouri to grow its innovation economy. Eligible applicants include Public or private non-profit Missouri research institutions and non-profit entrepreneurial support organizations. Applications are due by November 1.
InvestMidwest Venture Capital Forum
InvestMidwest is a forum for venture capital to get acquainted with "40-45 companies from throughout the Midwest in the three industry tracks of life sciences, technology and food/ag/bioenergy." Over "300+ attendees [have] included investors from top venture capital firms attended the 2016 InvestMidwest." Early applications due November 11.
Missouri Technology Corporation IDEA Fund
The IDEA Fund promotes the formation and growth of businesses in Missouri that engage in the transfer of science and technology into job creation. IDEA fund is comprised of four programs: Missouri TechLaunch, Seed Capital Co-Investment, Venture Capital Co-Investment Program and High-Tech Industrial Expansion. The next round of applications are due by November 16.
Innovation Crossroads Fellowship
Do you have a game-changing energy technology idea? Five aspiring entrepreneurs will be chosen to mature their ideas for clean energy solutions at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (Tennessee) and launch new companies. Apply by November 18.
Digital Sandbox KC
Digital Sandbox KC broadly seeks new innovation in information technology. The Sandbox provides innovators with proof-of-concept resources to support early-stage commercialization processes. Thanks to strong partnerships, special consideration is given to entrepreneurs based in Independence, Missouri, and Olathe, Kansas, and those in the energy sector.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
