Battle of the Brands Round 2: Meet Your Sturdy 32
Last week, 64 of Kansas City’s microenterprises, Main Street businesses, second-stage businesses and innovation-led firms entered KCSourceLink’s Battle of the Brands. They fought hard. They fought strategically. They brought sassy hair and rap battles. But was it enough?
Now only half remain, ready to hit the socials to become Kansas City’s Aristo of Entrepreneurship, Baron of Brands, sole Kahuna of KC Businesses.
There were some clear and decisive favorites in the first round of battle. Boulevard Brewing Company, Sporting KC, AMC Theatres and The Funnel Cake Truck all took early and rather devastating leads over their competitors.
There were some close calls—really, really close calls. With fewer than 100 votes between them: Messner Family Farm took the shirts off the backs of Loyalty KC.
But the closest battle throughout Round 1 was between Edge Up Sports v. Populous In the end, with only a 16-vote spread (that stings), Edge Up Sports proved they had the edge up on Populous (like what we did there?).
Voting Is Open
Your favorite brands will need your confidence and your votes if they’re to survive another round. Polls are open on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Cast your vote for your favorite KC entrepreneurial companies and urge your friends, colleagues and neighbors to do the same.
And if you're just in it for the action, keep your eyes on the Main Street bracket. With the most votes than any other quadrant and some pretty fierce, big-brand matchups, those battles are the ones to watch this round.
Don’t let your favorite KC companies suffer from uncertainty and stress. Vote now because you can't vote open. Only one vote per IP per round. Voting for this round ends at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 11.
