Microloans for Artists
The Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Advance KC, and Justine PETERSEN have launched a new microloan program to help make living for your art—and making your art for a living—a little bit easier.
Local artists are invited to apply for short-term loans—typically ranging from $3,000 to $5,000—that they can use to invest in new equipment and supplies. The program is part of a larger effort to increase artists’ access to finances, including technical workshops in financial literacy, credit building programs and microloans, and access to traditional bank loans and other support.
Interested? An informational workshop on Wednesday, July 8, will give you the scoop. It will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Paseo Room at the Kaufmann Foundation (4801 Rockhill).
