Deadline: Nov. 8, 2014 [deadline extended!]
Betablox accepts 10 teams at once that start-and-grow together cohort-style. The teams help each other out, but Betablox also provides a bevy of products and services to fuel each founder’s trajectory, including access to office space, mentors, investors, startup classes, one-on-one consultations and more. The program provides six-months of structure and hands-on help, followed by several years of value-added services.
InvestMidwest Venture Capital Forum
Quadrant: Startup, Second Stage
Deadline: Early, Nov. 14, 2014
The InvestMidwest Venture Capital Forum is accepting applications from entrepreneurs with high-growth companies hoping to raise capital from investors.
The event is April 1-2, 2015, in the Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center and typically attracts about 300 attendees and 45 presenting companies. It's a showcase for the best new high-growth businesses in the Midwest seeking growth capital. Presentations last about 10 minutes each.
Companies presenting at the previous 15 events raised more than $1 billion.
The early application deadline ends Nov. 14. The late deadline is Jan. 16. Companies applying early are given deeper consideration by the selection committee, which will have more time to ask questions and seek clarification.
Deadline: Dec. 1, 2014
SparkLabKC is now accepting applications for its third class of 10 early-stage technology startup companies. The three-month program will begin Jan. 12, 2015. The application deadline is Dec. 1.
The SparkLabKC 90-day accelerator program provides:
- Seed capital worth up to $18,000
- More than 100 mentors from an array of industries
- Free workspace at the SparkLabKC office at 127 W. 10th St., Suite 102.
- Legal, accounting and financial services
The SparkLabKC program partners with some of the biggest companies, nonprofits and research institutions in the Kansas City region, including Polsinelli, DST Systems, Missouri Bank, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Innovation Center and others.

The Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator is now welcoming applications from startup companies for its second mentor-led program. The three-month accelerator program, led by Techstars of Boulder, Colo., will select about 10 startups in mobile health technology from around the world to join its spring of 2015 class. The deadline to apply is Dec. 14.
