Dan and Dom's Nom Noms
After our last newsletter, Amanda Pohnert (founder and CEO of Date Night) shared this story about her seven year old son and his lemonade stand. Whether their thing is art or Minecraft or baseball or lemonade stands, it's all about helping our kids find and pursue their passions and then share them with world..
"After he got his first sale nothing could pull him away from his stand. (Not even the off and on rain).
"The day before was a total bust, not a single customer. So we made up a few flyers and walked around our neighborhood (about 3 miles) and asked the garage sales in the area if they'd mind putting up his flyer. (He learned that this was a form of something called, advertising, LOL).
"Well as the pictures show, the next day went much better, only a few sales, but to him, it meant much more. It just poured fuel on his budding entrepreneurial fire. He learned a few things and is ready for more.
"He wants me to start reading him a chapter of The Lean Startup
each day. I'm considering doing so .He may not understand it completely but if he can learn to apply the scientific method to life he'll be better off for it.
"Wonder where he gets his entrepreneurial spirit? LOL!"
