From whiteboard to boardroom, the UMKC Innovation Center partners with the university and the community to spark entrepreneurial efforts within our region and across the country.

With a suite of high-impact programs, the Innovation Center helps emerging and existing business owners, whether they are student, faculty or community-based, hone their business basics, evaluate commercialization opportunities and connect with the right resources at the right time.

Specializing in technology commercialization, the Innovation Center delivers just-in-time education, counseling and access to resources to aspiring and existing business owners resulting in increased jobs for the communities it serves.

Our depth of business management expertise and community connections coupled with our outstanding customer service and ability to move at the speed of business makes the UMKC Innovation Center the “go-to” place for aspiring and existing business owners. We offer a highly identifiable, reliable source for credible business startup and growth information and education. Any member of the community, be they university or lifelong learners, can use that information for immediate application.

Artist INC

Artist INC connects Kansas City artists of all disciplines to the tools, resources, and opportunities necessary to develop their entrepreneurial skills and strengthen their artistic practice.

Digital Sandbox

Digital Sandbox KC provides proof of concept funding and offers a central connection point for large businesses, emerging enterprises and entrepreneurs to jointly develop new products and services.

KCSourceLink

KCSourceLink connects aspiring, emerging and existing business owners to a network of more than 230 nonprofit, government and educational resource partners in the Kansas City region that offer business-building services.

Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance (PTAC)

Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center helps local businesses gain millions of dollars in government contracts each year through training, one-on-one consulting and a special bid-matching system.

MOSourceLink was created in 2008 to help startup entrepreneurs and small businesses across Missouri gather information, support and resources to grow and succeed.

Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC)

Our SBTDC provides technical assistance to start-up and existing businesses through one-on-one consulting and training. Specializes in technology commercialization, economic gardening, international trade and second-stage businesses.
