In honor of this year's MLB All Star Game, hosted in our own hometown of Kansas City, we're celebrating a few of our own All Stars, those small business owners and entrepreneurs who our making a difference to our community and local economy.
Each of the entrepreneurs you'll meet in our blog over the next few weeks has worked with one of KCSourceLink's resource partners, part of a growing network of 180+ local nonprofits that offer low and no-cost services to help entrepreneurs and small business owners start, grow and accelerate their businesses.
First up: Rick & Lisa Pycior of Lee's Summit Cartridge World.
Tell us about Cartridge World.
We are committed to providing consumers and businesses with the less expensive and "greener" alternative of remanufactured printer cartridges.
How did your KCSourceLink Resource Partner help you build your business?
The Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce provides educational programs and networking opportunities that helped us build our business. Networking through the chamber has been the cornerstone of our marketing plan since first opening the business. Because of opportunities provided by the Chamber, we have been able to connect with other business owners and find resources for us and our customers. The Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce really does help put your "Business in Motion".
What makes Kansas City America's most entrepreneurial city?
Kansas City is the home of some of America's most influential entrepreneurs. Imagination and ideas are supported in K.C. like nowhere else in America. Here, dreams become a reality and help shape the future of our country. Kansas City's own Kauffman Foundation sponsors Global Entrepreneurship Week, which celebrates our achievements and recognizes the efforts put forth by people in big and small business alike.
