Millions of people will hit the real and cyber streets in search of holiday gifts this weekend—and we want to help direct a few of those feet to your brick and mortar on Small Business Saturday, November 26.

What Is Small Business Saturday?
American Express launched the “holiday” in 2010 as a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Where Black Friday features sales from mainly big box retailers, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday hunters and gatherers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.
Get the word out.
Small and local is what we’re all about over here at KCSourceLink—and we want to help you get the word out.
So first, check out the special tools (and prizes) available through American Express on their Small Business Saturday website: promote your business with their in-store signage, e-marketing tools, and free Facebook ads; create and share your offer; and rally your customers.
And then tell us about it.
Help support other small businesses in Kansas City by sharing how you’ll celebrate Small Business Saturday in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
- Share your suggestions for how you’ll promote your business on Small Business Saturday.
- Post (tasteful!) pictures of your business, employees or products.
- Show us how you celebrated Small Business Saturday.
- Tell us your Small Business Saturday success story.
Don’t Own a Small Business?
That’s okay. Promote your favorite KC small business—post a picture, show your local purchasing power in action or just tell us how and why you choose to shop, eat, and play local during the holidays.
So What’s in It for You?
Sure, it’s yet another way to shamelessly promote your business under the auspices of friendly strategy sharing, but we’ll also toss in a couple of prizes.
On Monday, November 28 (after we recover from our own eating and shopping mania), we'll pick two participants at random and give them a copy of either Eric Ries’ The Lean Startup: How Today's Entrepreneurs Use Continuous Innovation to Create Radically Successful Businesses or Sarah Lacy’s Brilliant, Crazy, Cocky: How the Top 1% of Entrepreneurs Profit from Global Chaos.
Let the holiday frenzy begin!
